First steps towards the Vision

The search for our own church building started early in 2003. The "Nehemiah project" was established. Horst Appel, Jose Izquierdo and Larry Bright were in charge of searching a new church building.

A separate fund was put aside to help buy or rent a building. There were many criterias that the building had to fulfill and after much prayer a profile was created...
basically we needed a stand alone building with more than 400m², with a yard for the kids, close to Darmstadt, public transport accessible... these only to name a few.

The commitee reviewed many buildings but God had other plans. We had to keep in mind what God had for us... "Good, Gooder, or Goodest".
With this in mind the search continued. Then finally in Summer 2004 we came in agreement on a building in the industrial area of Weiterstadt.

We prayed for it... we claimed it.... and God gave us the building!!!

Middle of December 2004 we officially received the keys to the building.
It will be devided between RVCCM and Si-Gate GmbH(Robert Newberry's company).
It it will take some work before we can use it as a worship center.

The next step was to develop a clear picture of how to adjust the building to our needs and vision.
The elders came together several times, a mock-up of the building was made to have a better visual ideas of what we were looking into.
There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but we believe that this is where God wants to build His tent in this region.
